Finding Hope, One Bond at a Time

At Freya’s Warriors, veterans living with PTSD don’t just receive a service dog—they discover a partner, a purpose, and a path forward through connection, trust, and shared healing.

On a welcoming rural farm, veterans train side-by-side with their specialized PTSD service dogs, building a bond that brings comfort in the hardest moments and strength for the journey ahead. Surrounded by a community that understands, they begin to reclaim their independence—and their lives.

Prior to being paired all dogs will be professionally trained with foundations, public access and disability skills. Veterans will learn how to care for their dogs, be taught cues associated with all skills and teach skills to meet their individual needs. Learning will be hands on, group and one on ones, and outing. Participants will complete training logs, tests and assigned tasks. Together with dog and trainer they will prepare for public access test.

After graduation requirements: To maintain certification clients must participate in quarterly training sessions for the first year. Recertification is required for working life of dog in years 1, 2, 3, and biennially thereafter until retirement of dog. Lifetime support is available for free.
