The Story of Love Between a Brother and Sister
For years, Heather and her brother Cable lived separate lives, the distance between them widened by time, trauma, and the invisible wounds Cable carried home from war. When they found one another again as adults, they discovered that beneath the pain was a shared longing to create something that could bring healing not only to themselves, but to others walking the same difficult path. Together, they imagined a sanctuary in the rolling hills of western Maryland—a place where dogs and humans could learn, heal, and build life-changing partnerships rooted in trust and hope. Today, their dream is becoming reality as they work to provide PTSD- specific service dogs for veterans, transforming their own story of reunion and resilience into a lifeline for those still searching for their way home.
